How to apply for a grant project. Types of grant projects. Stages of proposal of the project. Specific requierements of projects. Documentation of the projects. Management, ordering and coordination of the project. Curriculum vitae. Planing and controlling of project realization. Presentation of the project. Team management in project.Sample application.


The course ends with a graded assessment via semestral work.

This work includes filling the virtual grant project application on the theme selected by a student.

The maximal number of points of the project proposal is 80.

The maximal number of points from presentations is 20. There will be two presentations in the semester.

The project proposal will be evaluated with respect to the grading scale ECTS.

Syllabus of lectures:

1. The search of the literature. Motivation and state of the art.

2. What is a grant proposal? Types of grants. Elements of a good proposal. Executive Summary. Statement of Need.

3. Project Description. Writing goals, objectives, outcomes.

4. Budget and instruments and materials specification.

5. Organizational information. Evaluation criteria.

6. Curriculum vitae.

7. Sample grant proposal. Application. Filling out forms.

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. Selection of the theme of your interest. Perform literature search.

2. Write an application for the research grant on the selected theme - motivation and state of the art.

3. Write an application for the research grant on the selected theme - description of goals, objectives and outcomes.

4. Specify and explain financial budget. Use standard empty forms for grant application available in the Czech Republic in English.

5. Review examples of grant applications.

6. Write professional Curriculum Vitae.

7. Write final virtual grant application.

Study Objective:

Main goal is to give basic skills in preparing, planing, implementation and presentation of grant project application focusing on practical training of the skills .
